The car is much like a local area network (LAN) with various devices connected to it. Most car systems have displays on the instrument panel.

In order to keep these indicators updated and correct, the systems constantly transmit information
to the instrument panel over a single
	   wire
communications bus via the Engine Control Unit (ECU).

Most of the car's systems are displayed in the instrument panel

Most of today's cars are equipped with digital display in the instrument cluster and some even feature digital odometers with trip computers.

Digital odometers, for example, use another computer in the instrument panel to look for
particular packets that are sent from the ECU.

In that case, whenever it recognizes an
	  odometer packet,
it updates the odometer and displays the new value.
Other electronic systems operate on a similar principle while the digital display of those systems provides us with more features. In addition, their cost is lower than this of analog systems, but requires expensive equipment for repairs.

	    N. Eyal & Co. vehicle lab specializes in electronic systems diagnostics and repairs.
The lab repairs and restores dashboard components including: instrument panel, instrument cluster, speedometer, odometer, warning lights and the climate control unit as well as the sensors.
In addition, we repair most control units (computers), ABS controllers and stability control units and install airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners.
